Not the Same as a Self-Paced Online Course

This is the important distinction, and it explains the price. Washington requires teen drivers education to include live classroom instruction and in-car training with a licensed instructor — it cannot be satisfied by a self-paced online course alone.

The livestream format keeps the live teaching but removes the travel: you attend real scheduled sessions with a real instructor over video, alongside the behind-the-wheel hours in a car. That is why this costs several hundred dollars where the self-paced courses in other states cost tens.
