About the Level 2 NVQ Spectator Safety Course

This course on spectator safety gives students the knowledge they need to successfully complete the Level 2 certificate in Spectator Safety, accredited by CPD. This is a work-based competence qualification. It will provide learners with the necessary skills, knowledge, and competence in areas such as preparing for events, controlling and monitoring spectators, and managing conflict appropriately.

The Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Spectator Safety (RQF) meets the minimum requirements defined in the Green Guide: Guide to Safety at Sports Grounds. It enables learners to steward live match events and other live spectator events.

Entry Requirements

• There are no formal entry requirements, but the centre may request or specify additional criteria.
• Learners should be 16 to undertake this qualification, which is available in England and Northern Ireland.

Progression Routes

Learners seeking progression from this qualification can advance their skills further through the following:

• Level 3 NVQ Certificate in Spectator Safety
• Level 4 NVQ Certificate in Spectator Safety Management
• Licence to Practice qualifications, e.g. Door Supervision or Manned Guarding
• Level 2 Award in Front of Stage Pit Barrier Operations
