The CITB Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme, commonly known as SSSTS, is designed for construction workers who are moving into, or already working in, a supervisory role. This two-day course helps site supervisors understand their legal responsibilities and the practical steps required to manage health, safety and welfare on construction sites.
The SSSTS course provides essential knowledge for supervisors, foremen, gangers, team leaders and first-line managers who are responsible for overseeing work activities, communicating instructions and helping maintain safe standards on site.

Entry Requirements
Delegates should either hold a supervisory position or be preparing to move into a supervisory role. A good standard of written and spoken English is required, as delegates will need to take part in course activities and complete the final assessment.
Assessment
Assessment takes place throughout the course through tutor observation, group exercises and individual participation. Delegates are also required to complete a multiple-choice examination at the end of the course.
Certification
Successful delegates will receive the CITB Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme certificate. The SSSTS certificate is valid for five years. To remain certified, delegates must complete the appropriate SSSTS Refresher training before their certificate expires.
Course Duration
The SSSTS course is delivered over two days. Training may be completed as two consecutive days or, where available, one day per week across two weeks.
