What is E-learning?
E-learning is a very flexible study option and is now being used by organisations in addition to face-to-face learning to educate and inform their employees. E-learning enables employees to study in the comfort of their own home or workplace using a computer which is connected to the internet via broadband. E-learning provides opportunities to people who want to learn at their own pace, whilst providing plenty of support. Many modern e-learning platforms enable problem areas to be discussed in discussion forums, by e-mail and other social media websites such as Facebook and Twitter.
What is Distance Learning?
Distance learning provides opportunities to people who want to learn at their own pace, whilst providing plenty of support. Many modern distance learning packs enable problem areas to be discussed in discussion forums and by e-mail and other social media websites such as Facebook and Twitter. This is a common alternative to face-to-face and e-learning. Course materials are provided in a folder containing printed course content and learning materials in addition to an interactive CD-ROM. Distance learning became very popular due to developments in technology, specifically the CD-ROM. Most forms of distance learning do not require internet access.
