CABWI Signing, Lighting and Guarding Course in Wotton-under-Edge, Gloucestershire

This one-day Signing, Lighting and Guarding course offers a Nationally recognised qualification as part of the NRSWA (new roads and streetworks act).

This CABWI certification delivers the necessary skills, knowledge, and understanding of Signing, Lighting & Guarding – Operatives (O1) Supervisors (S1). It is primarily aimed at operatives/supervisors who have never worked on the highway and prepare them to carry out these activities as part of their role. As such, training is required to ensure these duties are done safely and follow the NRSW Act regulations.

In this course you will learn how to write risk assessment for a specific site, identify situations that require the provision of signing, lighting and guarding and set out and operate Temporary Traffic Lights.

Our technically-experienced educators will assess delegates in this two day course, awarding successful delegates a CABWI unit accreditation.

Course Content

The course content includes:

  • The New Roads and Street Works Act
  • Basic principles of signing, lighting and guarding
  • Traffic control measures and when to use them
  • Practical use of the Code of Practice
  • Portable traffic lights and when to use them
  • Practical use of equipment for street works and new roads
  • Using Stop and Go, boards

Certification

Certificate and card on successful completion of the course.
