CITB SMSTS Refresher Course Delivered Online by Instructor

This is a 5 day SMSTS course delivered by an approved trainer. The course is delivered on Zoom video conferencing software - you can join on any mobile device or computer.

Courses start at 8.30am and finish at 4pm each day.

After purchasing your course, you will be able to login to your account and view everything you need to know for the course.

Upon completing the course you will receive your official renewed CITB SMSTS Certificate which is valid for another 5 years.

What's Included?

This two-day SMSTS Refresher course reminds individuals working on site of their responsibilities in relation to site safety and health and welfare. The two-day site management refresher course also provides a good understanding of current legislation relating to health and safety issues.

Course Content

This two-day SMSTS Refresher course covers the following topics:

• Current focus of HSE's attention
• Risk assessment and method statements
• CDM Regulations 2015
• Construction Health, Safety and Welfare
• Roles and responsibilities of key duty holders under CDM 2015
• Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations (RIDDOR) 2013

Certification for this course is valid for 5 years. To remain certified in this area, you will need to take a refresher course before the expiry date on your new certificate, otherwise the full course will need to be retaken.

Entry Requirements

General Requirements Advised by CITB

The refresher course is only for delegates who have previously passed the five-day SMSTS or subsequent refresher course, and hold a valid SMSTS certificate. Evidence must be provided to the training provider of their eligibility. If you are unable to provide a copy of your certificate, a screen shot of the the online card checker can be used to establish you currently hold a valid SMSTS certificate. If your certificate has expired you will need to complete the full 5 day SMSTS course or contact CITB directly to request an extension. If you try to complete the course without a valid certificate CITB will reject your results and as a training provider there is nothing Marble Training can do for you here. Contact our team if you're not sure what to do.

Additional Information

• Computers or Laptops with a camera are the best choice.
• If your computer does not have a webcam, you can also use your tablet or mobile.
• If joining with a mobile device, you will need a 2nd device for the multiple choice test - 1 device for the test and the other to be the camera.
• If you do not have a webcam connected to your device, you can always connect a 2nd device such as a tablet or smartphone to act as your camera for the course. Many learners simply rest the phone against their PC or Laptop if required.

Results

All learners will receive their results immediately and same day. There are 3 outcomes to the SMSTS multiple choice test which are:

• Pass
• Fail with the option to resit exam within 90 days
• Fail and need to sit the course again

Upon passing the exam your results will be submitted to the CITB who will distribute your certificate within 7-10 days.

There is also a Practical Group exercise which will be guided and marked by your assigned trainer.

Pass rates are explained during the course and the Marble Training Support team will help with any requirements such as certificates, resits or re-booking a course.

For short courses a completion certificate is available at the end of the course. You can screenshot this or print it out to confirm completion of the training.

For accredited courses a certificate will be sent directly to you from the appropriate awarding body.

To join online courses, delegates have to log in via a link provided through a computer or laptop with a camera, screen, microphone and access to the internet.

E-learning and Online (Instructor-led) training is more flexible, efficient, and cost-effective.

Short online courses also help employers to demonstrate that they have fulfilled their legal duties to ensure their personnel have been adequately trained.

Once the courses have been completed, a confirmation of results can be saved or printed as evidence. This can then be kept on record as evidence of suitable training.

Step 2

Once you have paid for your course(s), you will receive an email from our team advising how to begin your training.

You will be provided with a username and password which will enable you to access the e-learning portal. Login to start your course, once you have completed and passed the course, you will be able to download and print your certificate straight away.
