2-Day CITB Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme Course in Sheffield, South Yorkshire
From 1st January 2010, UKCG’s 29 member companies adopted the new standard (SSSTS) to ensure that supervisors working on their sites can demonstrate they have the necessary knowledge and skills to supervise their workers effectively. This course is endorsed by the United Kingdom Contractors Group as the standard training for all supervisors working on UKCG sites. The SSSTS is ideal for those wishing to build a firm and practical understanding of construction workplace safety, and to acquire supervisory responsibilities. Through completing this CITB course delegates will gain the ability to understand health, safety, welfare and environmental issues, along with the legal responsibilities relevant to their work activities to promote health and safety ensuring they supervise effectively.
The SSSTS certificate is valid for 5 years, after this time delegates can take the SSSSTS Refresher course to renew their certification.
Course Overview
This CITB SSSTS course is intended to give site supervisors a clear understanding of how health and safety affects their role and the practical steps they can take to ensure a safe site. This course is for first line managers – those who have, or are about to acquire supervisory responsibilities. It provides an introduction to health and safety, welfare and environmental issues for those requiring an understanding of their legal responsibilities relevant to their work activities. It will provide a soun knowledge base to enable them to give valuable assistance in safely managing a construction site.
- The United Kingdom Contractors Group (UKCG) recognises this course as meeting the required standard for all managers working on UKCG sites.
