C&G Level 2 Working in Low Risk Confined Spaces (6160-01) Course in Doncaster, South Yorkshire

Course Aim

This course has been designed for people who may be required to enter and work within areas classified as low risk confined spaces, where there is a minimum chance of injury or death. This course aims to provide an understanding of the potential dangers and safe working procedures involved to ensure safe access and egress from the confined space. It also covers how to deal with emergency situations that may arise.

Consisting of a written and practical assessment.

Please note that this course is physically active. The booker agrees that all delegates are fit enough to complete this course.

Who Should Attend?

Anyone working or preparing to work within a low risk confined space environment.

You must be over 16 years of age and medically fit to take the qualification – a mandatory requirement within current industry regulations.

Learning Outcomes

The course covers the following areas so the learner will:

  • Be able to enter and exit low risk areas safely
  • Be able to work safely within a low risk area
  • Understand the necessary and appropriate equipment to use
  • Understand and implement emergency procedures for emergency evacuation

Modules Will Cover

  • Safe Systems of Work
  • Legislation – the Confined Space Regulations 1997 inclusive of Manning Levels, Health and Safety at Work Act, Management of Health and Safety at Work
  • Regulations, Personal Protection Equipment Regulations, Provision and
  • Use of Work Equipment Regulations, Control of Substances Hazardous to
  • Health (COSHH) Regulations
  • Identification and categorisation of confined spaces
  • Safe working in Low Risk Confined Spaces
  • Permit to Work procedures & Risk Assessments
  • Plant and equipment – suitability & requirements
  • Gas hazards & proper use of gas detection equipment
  • Personal Protective Equipment requirements and safe use of
  • Ventilation equipment requirements and safe use of
  • Understand the required safety checks of equipment and how to conduct these
  • Use of communication equipment and procedures
  • Understand emergency procedures

The course contains both practical and theory-based learning. There will be a practical and written assessment conducted and assessed by the instructor to ensure competency has been achieved.

Certification

Upon successful completion, the candidate will be issued with certification by City & Guilds, valid for 3 years.
