Emergency First Aid at Work in Leeds
The Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course is aimed at those who work at low risk category workplaces (i.e. offices), in which accidents are less likely to occur. It is also suitable for those looking to support a main designated first aider at higher risk level workplaces.
This Leeds based course focuses on the core skills required in an emergency lifesaving situation, including learning the responsibilities of the the First Aider, how to check for breathing, assessment of injuries, CPR among other situations.
If you’re working in higher risk workplaces, such as engineering, manufacturing, warehousing, construction or chemicals, then you may which to view the First Aid at Work (FAW) course instead.

- Understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider
- Be able to assess an incident
- Be able to manage an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally
- Be able to manage an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally including AED
- Know how to recognise and assist a casualty who is choking
- Be able to manage a casualty with external bleeding
- Be able to manage a casualty who is in shock
- Be able to manage a casualty with a minor injury

After three years learners must undertake another Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work Course to keep their first aid qualification valid.
