What is Food and Beverage Foundation?

Unfortunately, it is likely that more than 400 people will die from food poisoning in England every year. It is therefore clearly particularly important that everyone who servers’ food and drink to the public understands their personal responsibilities and the measure to be taken to ensure the safety of the food and beverages served.

What's Included in the Food and Beverage Foundation Course?

This online Food and Beverage Foundation course is for all team members involved with food service. This course is for all team members who work either full-time or part-time in support of the sales or serving of food and drink to the public.

Course Content

  • The consequences and benefits of good food standards.
  • The symptoms of food poisoning.
  • People at most risk of food poisoning.
  • The role of enforcement officers.
  • The dangers associated with bacteria, the possible sources.
  • Types of contamination and the steps to be taken to prevent them occurring.
  • The need for personal hygiene.
  • The importance of food safety in relation to fool allergies.
  • Forms and sources of food allergy.
  • The symptoms associated with an allergic reaction.
  • Responsibilities in relation to the licensing law.
  • Responsibilities regarding smoking in public places.
  • The possible misuse and dealing of drugs.

Course Format

The Food and Beverage Foundation course is delivered online and presented via an easy-to-use interface which is retina friendly, engaging, interactive and has a fresh modern style. The course can be accessed using (PC, Tablet or Mac), and the latest version of Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge, please note that Pop-up may need to be enabled.

Certification

The Food and Beverage Foundation course content complies with subject related standards and has an associated online knowledge assessment the successful completion of which results in a Certificate of Achievement that is certified by TQA and carries unique registration number. Certificates can be printed and saved.

T&C

The Food and Beverage Foundation course will be available for 30-days once the account is activated with the new title. The purchase price includes one quiz attempt, resits are available for a small administration charge of £5.00 plus VAT.

For short courses a completion certificate is available at the end of the course. You can screenshot this or print it out to confirm completion of the training.

For accredited courses a certificate will be sent directly to you from the appropriate awarding body.

To join online courses, delegates have to log in via a link provided through a computer or laptop with a camera, screen, microphone and access to the internet.

Connection quality is the responsibility of the delegate. If you need to download free video conferencing software please visit our video conferencing software page where you can download the software specified by Timely Intervention.

E-learning and Online (Instructor-led) training is more flexible, efficient, and cost-effective.

Short online courses also help employers to demonstrate that they have fulfilled their legal duties to ensure their personnel have been adequately trained.

Once the courses have been completed, a confirmation of results can be saved or printed as evidence. This can then be kept on record as evidence of suitable training.
