What is Legionella Awareness?

Legionella bacteria can cause serious harm to health if not properly controlled. Outbreaks of the bacterium Legionella can occur where water is maintained at a temperature high enough to encourage growth. Therefore, harmful Legionella bacteria can develop in many buildings containing water storage or distribution systems. Organisations responsible for buildings must meet the requirements of the revised Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) on Legionnaires’ disease. If you are a building owner, premises manager, or maintenance worker, it is your legal obligation to keep staff away from these deadly bacteria. Taking our Legionella awareness e-learning course is the first step in understanding the risks and preventive measures you can take when dealing with Legionella.
