What is the NEBOSH Construction Certificate?

The NEBOSH Health and Safety Management for Construction Certificate is an essential qualification for anyone working in or wanting to work in health & safety management in the construction industry. The NCC is required for over 90% of construction related health and safety roles.

Who is the NEBOSH Construction Certificate Aimed At?

The NEBOSH Construction Certificate qualification is aimed at Managers, Supervisors, Health and Safety Advisors or anyone who manages construction health and safety as part of their role. There are no entry requirements.

Course Content

The NEBOSH Construction course learning objectives cover:

  • Effective management of health and safety on a construction site
  • Identification and common workplace hazards
  • UK legal requirements for managing H&S in construction
  • Understanding the critical elements of a robust health and safety management system
  • Controlling workplace hazards
  • Constructions legislation
  • Managing contractors safely
  • The Construction Regulations 2015 and the duties of those involved
  • Conducting accident and incident investigations
  • The practice and principles of risk assessments
  • Identifying and assessing construction workplace hazards

Assessment

There is one assessment, which is conducted remotely with an open book. Delegates have 48 hours to complete the written examination answering questions which relate to a real-life scenario and submit via the NEBOSH portal.

Following completion of the open book assessment, there is a short closing interview of approximately 15 minutes which can be undertaken via video call. This is to confirm that the work submitted was completed by you and that you had no assistance.

Certification

Your NEBOSH Construction Certificate will be sent to you via recorded delivery by Target Zero approximately 12 weeks after successful completion of the course.

All you need to complete our e-learning courses is a computer, tablet or smartphone, an internet connection and Zoom.

To attend a remote online course delegates must have access to a computer, laptop, tablet or phone that uses a microphone and webcam.

Short online courses also help employers to demonstrate that they have fulfilled their legal duties to ensure their personnel have been adequately trained.

Once the courses have been completed, a confirmation of results can be saved or printed as evidence. This can then be kept on record as evidence of suitable training.
