Assessment and Certification

The NEBOSH Oil and Gas training course is assessed by a two-hour written exam. It is accredited by the Scottish Qualification Authority (SQA) for delivery across the UK and internationally. It is intended to be rated at Level 6 in the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework, which is comparable to the standard of the NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety. For candidates in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, this is broadly comparable to a Vocationally Related Qualification (VRQ) at Level 3 in the Qualifications and Credit Framework.

There are no formal requirements; however, we do recommend that candidates first complete the NEBOSH International General Certificate or NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent level 3 qualification.

How long does it take to complete?

This a distance learning course, typically comprising 55 hours of study.
