NVQ Level 3 in Occupational Health and Safety Qualification
The Level 3 NVQ Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety qualification is aimed at candidates working as a health and safety practitioner, in a position of responsibility for the health, safety and welfare of a team or organisation. The qualification is generic and appropriate for individuals working in a range of sectors. A huge benefit of this qualification is that it is accepted by CSCS when learners are applying for the Gold Management Card. Learners may apply to the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health IOSH for membership at Associate or Technician level
How Does it Work?
Learners will be given access to a personalised e-portfolio and introduced to their Account Manager who can be contacted by email or phone. The learners e-portfolio will have a % indicator to track progression. This qualification is competence-based; learner must demonstrate the level of competence described in the units. The learner is required to produce a portfolio of evidence which demonstrates their achievement of all of the learning outcomes and assessment criteria for each unit.

- Promote a culture of health and safety in the workplace
- Conduct a health and safety risk assessment of the workplace
- Ensure responsibility for actions to reduce risks to health and safety
- Develop procedures to safely control work operations
- Monitor procedures to safely control work operations
- Investigate and evaluate health and safety incidents and complaints in the workplace
- Make sure actions in the workplace aim to protect the environment
Pre-requisites
There are no formal entry requirements for the qualification; however, the potential learner must be able to demonstrate that they can meet the skills, knowledge and experience requirements of the NVQ in the Occupational Health and Safety before enrolment. We will carry out an initial assessment of the learner’s skills and knowledge (Skill Scan) to confirm their suitability for the course prior to being accepted. Learners must have a written and spoken English to such a degree that they can understand the key concepts contained within the course, plus, you will need access to a computer/ laptop and have a stable internet connection.
Validity of the Qualification
This course does not expire.
Duration
You have 2 years to complete the NVQ. The average completion time 9 months but can be completed in as little as 8 weeks.
