Asbestos Awareness Course in Wolverhampton
Asbestos Awareness is a half-day course for anyone whose work could foreseeably disturb asbestos-containing materials. It is a legal requirement under Regulation 10 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 for maintenance workers, electricians, plumbers, joiners and similar trades working on buildings constructed or refurbished before the year 2000.
This is an awareness course. It does not qualify anyone to work with or remove asbestos — it teaches you to recognise it and stop.

- The properties of asbestos and its effects on health
- The types, uses and likely locations of asbestos in buildings
- How the condition of asbestos affects the risk of fibre release
- How to avoid the risk of exposure
- What to do if you discover or disturb asbestos
- Emergency procedures and reporting
Assessment and Certification
Successful delegates receive an Asbestos Awareness certificate. HSE guidance recommends refresher training at appropriate intervals, typically annually.

Once the courses have been completed, a confirmation of results can be saved or printed as evidence. This can then be kept on record as evidence of suitable training.
